<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming unit having high maintainability and to provide an image forming apparatus having the image forming unit. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming unit 32 which is detachably provided in an image forming apparatus body 12 has an exposure device 26 for irradiating a photoreceptor with light, to write a latent image and a developing device 28 for developing the latent image on the photoreceptor 22 which is formed by the exposure device 26 by toner.
