PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device for surely preventing a development history phenomenon without lengthening a print time in the developing device for developing by using a development roller and a magnetic roller, and forming a magnetic brush by a two-component developer on the magnetic roller to form a toner thin layer on the development roller. SOLUTION: The development roller 14 is composed of: a rotation sleeve 14b; a development roller magnetic pole body 14a having an opposite face opposing one of magnetic roller magnetic poles 13a by contained in the rotation sleeve 14b and having a magnetic pole different from one of the magnetic roller magnetic poles 13a on the opposite face; and a means for restraining to take in magnetic force lines generated on the downstream side end of a rotation direction of at least the rotation sleeve 14b in the opposite face of the development roller magnetic pole body 14a. Magnetic force concentrated on the end of the development roller magnetic pole body 14a reduces influence given to the magnetic force of the magnetic roller magnetic pole 13a by the means for restraining the magnetic force lines.
