PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the degree of discharge of smell and dust, in an indoor unit to an indoor living space, at the start of cooling or dehumidifying operation. SOLUTION: When starting cooling or dehumidifying operation, a cooling operation time integration means 23 starts measurement of cooling operation time, moves a vertical wind direction adjusting plate 9 to an upward wind direction position, a compressor 1 is started and a compressor operation time integration means 22 starts measurement of operation time of the compressor. When the compressor operation time exceeds predetermined time T1, an operation elapsed time determining part 26 of compressor drives an indoor fan motor 21 at low speed and starts a deodorant device 10 and a deodorant device operation time integration means 25 measures the deodorizing time. When the cooling operation time exceeds predetermined time T2 or an indoor heat exchange temperature becomes equal to or lower than a predetermined value A, the cooling operation elapsed time determining part 27 and a heat exchanger temperature determining part 28 switch the indoor fan motor 21 to a normal operation, and moves the vertical wind direction adjusting plate 9 to a normal wind direction position.
