PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image processor in which image quality in a color character region can be improved when a document image is reproduced as an image composed of an achromatic color component and one chromatic color component. SOLUTION: When input image data indicating an image composed of a plurality of color components are converted into output image data indicating an image composed of an achromatic color component and one chromatic color component, a black formation undercolor removal section 10 forms a CMY signal and a K signal for outputting a CMY signal subjected to color correction processing with two colors of an achromatic color and a chromatic color. A spatial filter processing section 11 and/or a gray scale reproduction processing section 13 performs different reproduction processing on a K signal and a CMY signal in a region separated as a color character region by a region separation processing section 8.
