An air conditioner having a discharge direction controller is provided to mount fans and evaporators at each outlet and control rotation direction of the fans in the same or opposite directions, thereby carrying out entire or local cooling. An air conditioner having a discharge direction controller includes a main body(100) formed with an inlet(110) at a lower part and outlets(130,140) at both sides of an upper part. A first blower(120) is mounted at a rear part of the inlet for generating air suction force. Right and left evaporators(132,142) are mounted between the outlets for cooling room air inhaled by the first blower. Right and left blowers(131,141) are mounted between the outlets and the right and left evaporators. A controller controls rotation directions of the right and left blowers, which are cross flow fans having rotation shafts(152) disposed in the longitudinal direction of the main body and driven by driving motors(151). |
