<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clean an endless belt over its entire width, to exhibit safe cleaning performance, and to stably perform a belt meander correction operation. <P>SOLUTION: The belt drive device includes: a plurality of rollers; the rotatable endless belt extended around the rollers; a roller shaft displacing member disposed on at least one of the ends of at least one of the rollers and used to displace the shaft of the roller according to the movement of the endless belt in the direction of the roller shaft; a cleaning member disposed opposite the roller provided with the roller shaft displacing member; and a moving mechanism used to move the cleaning member in the direction of the roller shaft as the endless belt is moved in the direction of the roller shaft. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
