<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accommodate a user when a function selecting part formed using GUI is non-selectably displayed because the function cannot be executed. <P>SOLUTION: A computer stores restriction definition information defining a restriction that is the reason that the function cannot be executed and processing for solving the restriction for each function and for each restriction. A file to be deleted is designated, but "deletion" of a GUI part is unclearly displayed so as not to be selectable. At this time, when the user matches a mouse cursor to "deletion", the computer comparatively collates the current state of the selected file, the function to be executed, and the current attribute of the user with the restriction definition information, and generates and display a sub-menu of "deletion" displaying the reason of non-deletion and processing enabling the deletion.
