POLARIZATION MAINTAINING OPTICAL FIBER PIGTAIL WITH OPTICAL ISOLATOR AND LASER MODULE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate an aligning process for coupling light to a polarization maintaining optical fiber and to reduce the time required for assembling.

SOLUTION: The polarization maintaining optical fiber pigtail includes: a polarization maintaining optical fiber 11; a first holder 12 which holds the polarization maintaining optical fiber; an optical isolator 14 having at least one polarizer and at least one Faraday rotator and fixed to the end face of the first holder 12 via an air layer; and a second holder 21 which holds the optical isolator 14 and is fixed with the first holder 12, wherein the second holder 21 has a polarization direction display part which shows the polarization direction of the light which passes through the optical isolator 14.
