PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hologram recording/reproducing apparatus, and a hologram recording/reproducing method which can shorten an access time as much as possible. SOLUTION: The apparatus is provided with: an address information writing means for writing address information showing positions of unit sections in a recording medium B in the case of recording a hologram for every unit section; an address information reading means for reading the address information from the recording medium B in reproducing the hologram from a plurality of already recorded unit sections S1,; and an irradiation position control means for focusing an irradiation spot Ls of only reference light successively to a plurality of unit sections S1, S2 on the basis of the read-out address information and moving the irradiation spot Ls relatively along a shortest path C from the present unit section S1 to the next unit section S2.
