PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotational angle detector capable of keeping the detection accuracy of rotational angle even when stress accompanied by a tilting component is applied to a shaft member via an operated member. SOLUTION: The rotational angle detector comprises a housing 5 having a magnetic sensor 7, a magnet 13 facing the magnetic sensor 7, a turning member 10 turnable with respect to the housing 5, and the shaft member 15 rotating with the operated member 16a. The rotational angle detector detects the rocking angle of the operated member 16a based on the variation of an output signal from the magnetic sensor 7 relatively rotating with respect to the magnet 13. The rotational angle detector also comprises aligning mechanisms 6a, 12a and 18 that connect the turning member 10 to the shaft member 15 mutually tiltably and hold the rotation axis X2 of the turning member 10 coaxially with a fixed axis X1 of the housing 5 regardless of the tilting.
