PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-way ratchet hinge by a simple principle and with a small number of parts which can support rotational load of an opening/closing portion so as to stop at an arbitrary position without folding down. SOLUTION: Hemispherical dimples are arranged at a uniform pitch in the circumferential direction of a rotary part. Balls are arranged at a uniform pitch in the circumferential direction of a fixed part. By pushing out the balls by compression springs, the rotary part and the fixed part are engaged with each other. Thus, the two-way ratchet hinge can support the rotational load of the opening/closing portion so as to stop at the arbitrary position without folding down. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
