PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular shift change-over device as small and highly responsive as possible. SOLUTION: An engaging member 60 is flexed between a detent member 52 and a fixed member 66 with the rotating drive of a shaft member 50 by an actuator 14 to accumulate elastic energy. When the engaging position of an engaging portion 62 is changed over from a first recessed valley portion 54 into a second recessed valley portion 56, if voltage for driving the actuator 14 is a predetermined threshold value V<SB>TH</SB>or lower, the change-over is executed after the engaging member 60 is once flexed between the detent member 52 and the fixed member 66. Thus, the accumulated elastic energy of the engaging member 60 is auxiliarily used to actualize highly responsive and suitable shift change-over with the actuator 14 having relatively small torque while suppressing additional troubles including low mileage.
