PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a door closer preventing a scatter of abrasion powder from a rotating part between door closer components. SOLUTION: The door closer comprises a rotating shaft for supporting a pair of door closer components relatively rotated in response to opening/closing of a door, rotatably to each other; sliding members which slide along the rotating shaft; and covers formed of thin plates into ring shape covering the open surface side of the sliding members and smoothly finished at least on the contact surfaces with the sliding members. The covers are provided on the open surface side of the sliding members, and abrasion powder produced from a sliding part between the rotating shaft and each sliding member and from a sliding part between the sliding member and the cover is retained on the inner surface side of the cover and prevented from being scattered to the outside.
