PURPOSE:To judge whether the operating state of the image forming device is normal or not without driving the entire device, by providing a command means to selectively drive part of plural processing means. CONSTITUTION:In an image forming device having plural processing means for forming image on a recording body 11, the surface potential of the drum 11 is detected by an electrometer 50. In order to check the surface potential of the drum 11 according to the operating state of said processing means, a mode switch 202 for setting the drum potential is provided so as to enable mode selection. Thus, part of the plural processing means for forming image may be selectively driven. By providing such command means, without driving the entire device, the operating state of part of the device may be closely investigated. |
