A power saving air conditioner is provided to separately mount evaporators at upper and lower parts of an indoor unit and control the same independently, thereby reducing volume of the indoor unit and power consumption. A power saving air conditioner includes an indoor unit having a case(10) formed with a plurality of suction/discharge gates(40a-40c) and mounted with a plurality of heat exchangers(20a,20b) inside for generating chilled air via heat exchange between atmospheric air and refrigerant. A plurality of slim fans(80a,80b) are disposed in the lengthwise direction in the case driven to inhale air into the case via the suction gates or discharge the chilled air to the outside via the discharge gates, wherein the heat exchangers are disposed in the vertical direction, facing the slim fans respectively. |
