The device has lighting units emitting light, and a lighting part (13) for illumination of an object arranged on the side of the part. A charge-coupled device (CCD) camera is provided on the other side of the lighting part. Each lighting unit is formed as a light emitting diode (19) (LED) and the part is formed as a flat circular cylinder with the LED pointing radially outward. The part has radially running blind holes in an outer cover, where the LEDs are inserted in the holes. The LEDs emitting different colors are provided for additive color mixture.
