The container 1 is of the bag-in-shell type comprising a hollow shell with a container body 2 and a dispensing aperture 6, with a waterproof bag 4 enclosed by the shell. The open end of the bag extends through the dispensing aperture or neck of the shell and is secured on the outside portion of the neck by adhesive 8. The shell can be made of a plurality of parts that are joined together to form the housing for the bag and the bag is connected to the shell via rupturable portions to facilitate separation and recycling operations. The shell and the bag can be made from biodegradable materials which can be provided with an accelerator to promote the degradation. The neck of the bag can further be folded along a line (79, Fig. 7a) to create a sharp fold to seal the container. |
