<p>The method involves connecting glow plugs (4) to a direct current supply by individual supply lines and operating the glow plugs by a pulse width modulation method. Electric resistance of the glow plugs is calculated by subtracting the resistance of the supply line of a plug glowing element during the engine operation. A relative pulse width is calculated for controlling the glow plugs. The resistance of the current paths in a control device is included for the calculation of the resistance of the glow plugs.</p> |
