<p>In an air dryer (1) with inner and outer pots (2, 3) separated by a first annular space (5), where the inner pot is filled with drying agent (10) and its interior cavity (9) is enclosed by a boundary wall (7) and a permeable non-woven (15), a partial region (19) of the non-woven, directly opposite the dryer outlet (4), is connected for air flow with the base cover (17) and another non-woven region (20) covers a second annular space (16) for oil collection. An air dryer (1) comprises inner and outer pots (2, 3) separated by a first annular space (5); and a compression spring (8) between the enclosing wall (6) of the outer pot and the adjacent boundary wall (7) of the inner pot. The opposite end of the outer pot is closed by a base (12), having an inlet for air to be dried, connected to the first annular space, and a central outlet (14) for dried air, connected to the interior cavity (9) of the inner pot. The inner pot is filled with (preferably granular) drying agent (10), and its interior cavity (through which air flows) is enclosed by the boundary wall and a permeable non-woven (15) supported at a distance from the base. The base is provided with a cover (17), separated from the interior cavity, connected with the outlet and having openings (18) for outflow of dried air. The novel features are that (a) only one partial region (19) of the non-woven, directly opposite the outlet is connected for air flow with the cover and (b) another region (20) of the non-woven covers a second annular space (16), which is closed (at least in the operating condition), surrounds the cover and serves as an oil collection space.</p> |
