In order to improve the comfort of the chair and to simplify its operation, a first chair fixture part (5) is arranged on the chair frame (4) and a second side part fixture (6) is arranged on the armrest part (2). Both fixture parts (5, 6) are connected to one another in a parallelogram configuration and in such a way that they can be pivoted by means of a front (7) and a rear (8) adjustment lever. The first chair fixture part (5) is controlled via the backrest (3). The backrest control (9) is arranged in a fixed manner on the first chair fixture part (5) and in a rotatable manner on the backrest (3) and is controlled via this pivot point (10) by means of a compressed gas spring (11) arranged on the chair frame (4) and on the backrest (3) for stepless adjustment of the backrest (3).
