Vehicle with a sensor for the detection of hazards in the vehicle surroundings

The vehicle has an obstacle sensor (12) for detection of an obstacle e.g. child (20), in a surrounding of a motor vehicle. A controller (10) integrates symbols for marking the detected obstacle in an image of the vehicle surrounding. A position of the symbols in reference to the image corresponds to a position of the obstacle in the image. A display device (11) is provided for representation of the image together with the symbols. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a motor vehicle.
