1,023,765. Rotary pumps. S. G. ERIKSSON. Feb. 11, 1964 [Feb. 12, 1963], No. 5703/64. Heading F1F. A flexible vane pump for sucking air, liquid and solid particles, e.g., air, blood, saliva, bone, metal and dust particles in dental operations, comprises an additional inlet 8 in an insert located after the pump outlet 5 and before the pump inlet 6 through which water is supplied for cleansing and lubricating the pump. The radius of the insert before the inlet 8 is less than that after it so that water is sucked into the pump by the rotor vanes 3. A line 9 connected to the inlet 8 and formed with a funnel 10 which may be placed below a water cock (not shown) includes a pressure switch 11 which operates to start the motor driving the pump when the water pressure is adequate. Thus the system may be started by opening the water cock. In a modification, the line 9 may be connected to a container into which the pump outlet 5 opens so that part of the water is re-circulated. A switch at the bottom of the container operates to start the pump motor when the water in the container reaches a predetermined level.
|
