The variable volume engine has a movable piston which has the same diameter as the engine piston. The stroke is equal to approximately one tenth of engine stroke. The piston has a connecting rod attached to the engine crank by a smaller crank. The crank is driven by a bevel held in the end of the cylinder, driven by an endless screw with a pitch lower than 45 degrees to make the movement irreversible. The endless screw has a pinion fixed to the shaft and operated by a ratchet connected to the piston servomotor.
