Method for producing an insulated building block of the type in which insulating material 9 is enclosed in a box construction formed by two substantially parallel main plates 8a, 8b and two substantially parallel side plates 2, 2', and load-bearing support bars 3a, 3b are secured at the corners of the box construction, on its outside. In this method, two end-wall units 1, 1' are formed which each comprise a side plate 2, 2' with a support bar 3a, 3b secured along each long edge thereof. The box construction is completed by means of the main plates 8a, 8b and the insulation 9 being introduced between the end- wall units so that each main plate bears sealingly against the inside of an opposite support bar 3a and 3'a or 3b and 3'b in each end-wall unit. At least one main plate 8a or 8b is anchored permanently to the respective support bar. A strip 4 of stiff insulating material is preferably secured between the support bars 3a, 3b in each end-wall portion 1, 1', the main plates 8a, 8b being introduced into slits 5a, 5b between the strip and the support bars after glue has been applied in these slits. <IMAGE> |
