The case 1 comprises a lid 2, a base 3 and a holder 7 for a cosmetics applicator; the lid, base and holder being interconnected along a hinge 4. The hinge comprises a camming and levering member 5 positioned intermediate its ends and the holder comprises a surface 18 engageable with the camming member such that opening the container lid causes the holder to lift from the base. A second embodiment shows the lid hinge member (28, Fig 7) comprising a levering surface which interacts with intermediate levering arm (40, FIG. 7) which in turn excerts a levering effect on the holder 7 in order to lift it. This permits the axis of the hinge and the pivoting axis of the holder to be parallel to each other or at an angle which may be upto and including 90{ degrees. |
