<p>The awning has a rotatably driven cloth shaft (3) arranged in a housing for rolling and unrolling of cloth sleeves (5). The cloth sleeves freely overlie on a horizontal housing base in vertical direction. A coupling device (8) is provided between a drive and the shaft to enable vertical movement of the shaft.
