A flexible protective tube, preferably for sheathing repair points on cables or the like, is proposed, by means of which the repair point is bridged, in that this flexible protective tube which is both slotted over its entire length and has slots transversely with respect to the longitudinal axis is inserted between the ends of the cut protective tube, being placed over the cable at the repair point. A further advantage of this flexible protective tube is that it can be bent in very tight radii and even relatively large distances, for example chutes (shafts), can be bridged over using it.
