A method of manufacturing an animal feed supplement comprising feeding a fluid composition into a first vessel (30), heating the composition and simultaneously applying a vacuum to the vessel (30), cooling the composition and allowing the composition to harden. Applying the vacuum is preferably achieved using a vacuum pump (46). A pressure release system (31) may also be provided.
