Apparatus for use in neurosurgery is described. The neurosurgical apparatus is for guiding tubing towards a brain target and comprises a guide wire (22) and a support tube (21). The guide wire (22) can be inserted into the support tube (21). The guide wire (22) has a small diameter and is stiffened when inserted in the support tube (21).
