The method involves detecting initial symptom list of a patient, and automatically generating a diagnostic question. A medical investigation is evaluated for answering the generated diagnostic question. Workflows are generated based on the initial symptom list and/or the answer. The generated work flows or a part of the work flows are displayed by an user interface. The generated work flows or a part of the work flows and/or result or partial result of the work flow generating method are stored in a database. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a central control device for generating a workflow for a medical treatment of a patient (2) an application of a central control device as optimization mechanism for optimizing a workflow of a medical treatment of a patient (3) a medical workflow-based system with a set of medical entities and a central control device.
