摘要 A semiconductor memory device equipped with a control chipset for supporting a plurality of program modes is provided to offer the control chipset for minimizing change of a conventional interfacing environment while being mounted with one non-volatile RAM. The semiconductor memory device includes the non-volatile memory(100) and the control chipset(110) capable of programming the non-volatile memory to different interface modes. The non-volatile memory includes a plurality of non-volatile memory cells, a writing circuit programming data to the non-volatile memory cells by responding to a control signal, and an instruction decoder. The instruction decoder controls the writing circuit to perform programming in the different programming modes by responding to control of the control chipset. The non-volatile memory cells are a PRAM(Phase RAM) or an FRAM(Ferroelectric RAM). The control chipset outputs a selection instruction signal for selecting a RAM or RAM interface programming mode.
