The present invention describes a pharmaceutical composition comprising a combination of antidiabetic substances including a sulfonylurea such as Glymepyride and a thiazolidinedione such as Pioglitazone for treating Diabetes Mellitus type 2; the inventive composition results in a combined product having improved properties and a synergistic effect, thus being a synergistic pharmaceutical composition, which comprises a synergistic combination of a sulfonylurea and a thiazolidinedione for treating Diabetes Mellitus type 2, where the sulfonylurea includes Glymepyride and/or any salts thereof, and the thiazolidinedione Pioglitazone and/or any salt thereof.
