An apparatus and a method for treating waste by melting and aeration are provided to melt waste more efficiently using high temperature oxidation reaction heat by performing high temperature oxidation reaction between waste and air/oxygen supplied to a molten slag layer through tuyeres and prevent emission of pollutants into the air by completely burning harmful gases. An apparatus and method for treating waste by melting and aeration comprises: a pyrolysis unit for pyrolyzing and burning injected waste; an aeration melting furnace(140) for burning combustible components and melting inorganic components at high temperatures; a multistep combustion chamber for burning gas exhausted from the aeration melting furnace in multistep to completely burn all combustible components; a gas stabilization furnace for stabilizing exhaust gases; a regenerative heat exchanger(175) for preheating combustion air; and an accumulated heat supply line for supplying the heated combustion air to various places. The pyrolysis unit comprises a waste injection equipment, a pyrolysis furnace(120), and a sub-combustion chamber(130). The multistep combustion chamber comprises a first combustion chamber(150), a thermo-stack(160), and a second combustion chamber(170). The waste injection equipment comprises a hopper(111), an entrance gate(112), an upper gate(113), and a pusher(114). |
