PURPOSE:To omit a drying process and retain the active material on a substrate by repeating a process in which nickel nitrate is melted and a porous sintered substrate is impregnated with it, then it is electrolytically reduced in an alkali aqueous solution and washed with water. CONSTITUTION:Nickel nitrate is melted at 100-110 deg.C and a porous sintered substrate is impregnated with it, then it is electrolytically reduced in an alkali aqueous solution and washed with water, and without drying it this impregnation process is repeated to produce a positive plate for a nickel cadmium storage battery. Therefore, nickel nitrate is changed to 3-hydroxide and the density is increased, thereby even though drying is not performed after the electrolytic reduction and water washing and water is contained in the porous substrate, substitution can be quickly performed and the active material can be retained, thus the process can be simplified and energy can be saved. |
