A semiconductive composition is provided to reinforce insulation strength largely, reduce insulation thickness largely, save material expenses, and enable manufacture of compact power cables. The semiconductive composition is obtained by adding a nucleation agent to a general semiconductive composition containing an ethylene copolymer resin as a matrix resin. Insulation strength is increased by addition of the nucleation agent. The nucleation agent is added in an amount of 0.5-3 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the matrix resin, such that the composition with the nucleation agent has higher insulation strength than the composition without the nucleation agent.
