Provided is a phase change ink composition, which uses a colorant having desired thermal stability and solubility to a vehicle for phase change ink, showing a high saturation, desired color tone and light fastness, causing little bleeding in a printed region, and producing a printed matter with a decreased pile height. The phase change ink composition comprises a phase change ink carrier, and a colorant compound represented by a formula 1 or 2 or a mixture thereof. In the formulae 1 and 2, each of R1, R2 and R3 independently represents H or a linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated, cyclic or acyclic, substituted or non-substituted alkyl group optionally containing a hetero atom, wherein total number of carbon atoms and hetero atoms in R1, R2 and R3 is about 18 or more; M is a metal atom; each of A, E and G independently represents a substitute in the phenyl or pyrazolone ring; G is a hydrogen atom; m is an integer of 0.1 or 2; p is an integer of 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4; J is H, alkyl, aryl, arylalkyl or alkylaryl group; two or more substitutents in the phenyl or pyrazolone ring are bound to each other to form a ring; m is an integer of 0, 1 or 2; n is an integer of 1, 2 or 3; and p is an integer of 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4.
