A balancing module of a lithium battery for a hybrid electric vehicle includes a DC-DC converter, a lithium battery, a lithium battery protection unit, and an external power supply unit. The lithium battery has a plurality of cells. The external power supply unit is connected to the lithium battery through the DC-DC converter. The lithium battery protection unit connected to the lithium battery balances each of cells of the lithium battery. The external power supply unit is connected to the lithium battery protection unit through another DC-DC converter. The external power supply unit supplies power for communication and power for a balancing unit of the lithium battery protection unit.
