PURPOSE:To improve a shelf life, aging stability of a silver image, etc. with a photographic element for a silver salt diffusion transfer process consisting of a silver halide photosensitive element, an image receiving element, a processing element, etc. by incorporating a specific image stabilizer therein. CONSTITUTION:The compd. expressed by the formula I or formula II (R0 is H, halogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, etc.; R1, R2 are H, alkyl, aryl; R3, R4, R5, R6 are H, alkyl, aryl, heterocyclic group; A1 is a bivalent group; m is 1-4; n is 1, 2) is incorporated as an image stabilizer into a photographic element for a silver salt diffusion transfer process consisting of a silver halide photosensitive element, image receiving element and processing element. The embodiments of the compds. expressed by the formula I and the formula II are exemplified by the formula III, the formula IV, etc. The compd. expressed by the formula I is obtd. by converting the carboxylic acid expressed by the formula V to a carboxylic acid chloride by a chlorinating agent then bringing the same into reaction with an amine.
