A method of storing rice using sawdust of a pine tree(Pinus densiflora forma erecta Uyeki) and charcoal is provided. The method extends shelf life. Regular rice or glutinous rice is stored in a rice storage container containing pine tree sawdust and charcoal on the wall. During the storage, the pine tree sawdust and charcoal are changed periodically. Further, wheat, barley, African millet, adlay, bean as well as rice is capable of being stored in the rice storage container having pine tree sawdust and charcoal.
