A color filter substrate for an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to improve the productivity and prevent the light leakage, by simply disposing ball spacers on a substrate without using a complicated process required for forming patterned spacers. A black matrix(120) having a plurality of openings is formed on a substrate(110). Red, green, and blue color filter patterns(115a,115b,115c) fill the openings of the black matrix. The red, green, and blue color filter patterns are distanced from each other, wherein edges of the color filter patterns overlap the black matrix. Ball spacers(130) are formed on the exposed portion of the black matrix. An overcoat layer(150) is formed on the resultant substrate including the ball spacers, wherein the overcoat layer exposes upper portions of the ball spacers. |
