An apparatus and a method for checking redundancy of reservation recording, and a recording medium for storing a program for performing the method are provided to quickly check the redundancy by a small amount of calculation in various kinds of contents storage devices. A parser(101) parses inputted reservation recording information. An information conversion part(102) converts the inputted reservation recording information into reservation recording information which has reservation recording information structure of a valid unit, based on the parsed information and day-of-the-week information applied from a day-of-the-week information providing part(103). A storing part(105) stores reservation information. A redundancy checking part(104) checks whether the reservation recording information having the reservation recording information structure of the valid unit is overlapped with the reservation information stored in the storing part.
