METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR COMMON-USE OF THE CDMA AND MOBILE RFID SYSTEMS IN A PORTABLE TERMINAL USING THE SLOT MODE

A method for sharing CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) and mobile RFID(Radio Frequency Identification) systems in a portable terminal by using a slot mode and a device therefor are provided to control so that a mobile RFID reader system operates in a sleep section only of a CDMA mobile station system by using a CDMA-type slot mode, thereby sharing the two systems in one terminal. A CDMA mobile station system(200) conducts CDMA communication. A mobile RFID system(300) conducts a passive RFID reader function. A switching unit(SPDT:Single Pole Double Throw,600) switches so that the CDMA mobile station system(200) or the mobile RFID system(300) is connected with an antenna(500). A controller(400) controls the switching unit(600) so that the CDMA mobile station system(200) is connected with the antenna(500) if a portable terminal(100) transceives a signal with a base station, and that the mobile RFID system(300) is connected with the antenna(500) if the terminal(100) transceives a signal with an RFID tag.
