A display method for a flat panel display is provided to display low resolution frame on a panel region without adding a frame buffer by inserting a dummy pulse to a clock signal and thus conforming to the resolution of the flat panel display. In a display method for a flat panel display, a panel module receives a frame data, a clock signal, a horizontal activation signal and a vertical activation signal. The activation period in the vertical activation signal is defined as a vertical period having a vertical blanking period, and the activation period of the horizontal activation signal is defined as a horizontal period having a horizontal blanking period. In a first step(201), a plurality of pulses is inserted to the clock signal during the horizontal blanking period, and thus the pulse number of the clock signal conforms to the horizontal resolution of the panel module. In a second step(202), a plurality of pulses are inserted to the horizontal activation signal, and thus the pulse number of the horizontal activation signal conforms to the vertical resolution of the panel module. In a third step(203), dummy frame data is supplied to the panel module during the vertical and horizontal blanking periods.
