A metal catalyst fixing unit for a muffler is provided to improve the sealing property of exhaustion gas by removing a space between a baffle and a metal catalyst. In a metal catalyst fixing unit(1) for a muffler, a metal catalyst(4) is fixed to a pair of baffles(3). The outer peripheral surfaces of baffles are fixed to the inner surface of the muffler in the interior space of the muffler provided in an exhaust pipe of a vehicle. A plurality of fixing holes(2) are formed in the baffles. A fixing pipe(6) is provided in the fixing hole of the baffle. At least one recess(5) is formed on the inner peripheral surface of the fixing pipe. At lest one boss corresponding to the recess of the fixing pipe is formed at both ends of a mantle(7) of the metal catalyst.
