A vortex eductor comprises a substantially cylindrical chamber (10) having a peripheral wall (11) and end walls (12, 13). A tangential inlet (14) is mounted through said peripheral wall (11), an axial inlet (16) is mounted through one of the end walls (12), and an outlet (15) is mounted through the remaining end wall (13), fluid under high pressure entering the tangential inlet (14) and forming a fluid vortex inside the chamber (10). A second fluid stream entering the chamber (10) through the axial inlet (16) is mixed with the first fluid in the vortex core and the mixture is removed through the axial outlet (15). The second fluid stream may contain solids, and inlet pipe (16) may comprise a vacuum break (17) which prevents cavitation in the vortex chamber. <IMAGE> |
