The device has a hollow cylindrical body (3) presenting an internal free volume and an end (31) through which the body is driven in rotation around an axis. A cylinder saw (4) is carried by an end (32) of the body in one configuration of the device, and cuts a fluid pipeline at right of a tapped barrel by screwing the body. A fluid passage (5) defined between the saw and the end (31) in another configuration communicates with the pipeline. A valve sensitive to a differential pressure selectively closes the internal volume of the body in sealed manner. An independent claim is also included for a method for piercing a fluid channel.
