A home automation system using a message service and a providing method thereof are provided to overcome restriction of a signal transmission or receipt distance used in home automation and to minimize errors of operation control in accordance with deteriorated signals. A home automation system using a message service comprises a zone control setup device(300), a mobile communication terminal, and a mobile communication system(200). The zone control setup device collects information on electric home appliances, writes out a state information message including the collected information on the electric home appliances, and transmits the message by a TID(Tree Identification) stack. The mobile communication terminal receives the state information message, constructs a control message for controlling the electric home appliances based on the state information, and transmits the control message by using the TID stack. The mobile communication system forms a communication channel between the zone control setup device and the mobile communication terminal. The zone control setup device receives the control message, generates a control signal for control a set electric home appliance according to the control message and transmits the generated control signal to the electric home appliance.
