PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-accumulation material which can be used for a long period with little deformation, by forming a cylindrical article made of a highdensity ethylene polymer and having core wire at the center of the cylinder, coating the surface of the cylinder with an organic peroxide, and heat-treating the product. CONSTITUTION:A columnar or cylindrical article made of a high-density ethylene polymer having a density of >=0.930g/cm<3> and having a core wire at the center of the column, etc. is coated with an organic peroxide, and is heat-treated in a hot liquid (e.g. silicone oil, polyethylene glycol, rapeseed oil, sesame oil, etc.) to obtain the objective material for heat-energy accumulator. The preferable examples of the organic peroxide are 1,1-bits-t-butylperoxy-3,3,5-trimethylcyclohexane, dicumylperoxide,, 2,5-dimethylhexane-2,5-hydroperoxide, etc. |
