The installation has a feeding bowl (2) associated with a weighing unit (3) for weighing the weight of the bowl, and a corridor (4) for allowing an individual to access the feeding bowl. The corridor is equipped with an identification code reading unit that is carried by an animal (13) e.g. duck. The reading unit and the weighing unit provide data e.g. code of identification of the animal, where the data is addressed by a data processing unit. The bowl and the weighing unit are mounted on a receiving frame (12) in a suspended state to provide free space between the bowl and a ground.
