<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fault diagnostic device using a fault diagnostic model having high versatility. <P>SOLUTION: This fault diagnostic device is provided with a function diagnostic model storage part 11 for preparing a function specialization diagnostic model whose function specialization has been performed by using a probability inference model for each function installed in an image forming apparatus 100, and for storing a fault diagnostic model by compounding the function specialization models; a dummy node connecting part 12 for preparing a diagnostic model to which a dummy node is connected instead of the function specialization diagnostic model for any function which is not installed in the image forming apparatus as the object of diagnosis; and an analysis processing part 13 for estimating the fault location of the image formation apparatus by using the fault diagnostic model to which the dummy node is connected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
